HUBUNGAN INTERAKSI SOSIAL TEMAN SEBAYA DAN SELF CONTROL DENGAN KECANDUAN GAME ONLINE PADA ANAK USIA SEKOLAH

Abstract


Online game addiction is categorized as a menta illness is called a gaming disorder and include into the addiction that
is non physical with the characteristics of compulsive and cause several social and emotional problems. The purpose of
this research is to see a relationship of peer social interactions and self controlto online game addiction in school age
children. The design is descriptive correlation. 84 respondentand used purposive sampling technique. The instruments
used were questionnaires has been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis used was a univariat and bivariate
analysis using chi square test. The results of this research were respondents who had low peer social interaction, mostly
positive addiction 70,7% (29 children). Respondentswho had low self control, mostly positive addiction 85,0% (34
children). Statistical test results of peer social interaction obtained p value (0.001) < alpha (0.05) and self control
obtained p value (0.000)<alpha (0.05).This research can be concluded that found a significant relationship between
peer social interaction and self controlto online game addiction in school age children. The result can be used as
material for sources of information for educational institutions, nurses, and the community in education to control
online game addiction in school age children.
