HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN TINGKAT KECEMASAN PADA ANAK LEUKIMIA AKIBAT KEMOTERAPI DI RSUD ARIFIN ACHMAD PROVINSI RIAU

Abstract


Leukemia known as blood cancer, is one type of malignancy of blood cells derived from bone marrow and can occur in
children. This study aimed to identify the relationship of family support with anxiety level of leukemia children due to
chemotherapy. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive correlation design and cross sectional
approach. The sample of this research is 30 respondents taken based on inclusion criteria usingpurposive sampling
technique. The measuring tool used were questionnaires for family support variable and assessment tool that has been
standard Hamilton Anxiety anxiety (HARS-A) for anxiety level. The results of this study found that 16 respondents
(53.3%) had positive support and there were 18 respondents (60%) who had anxiety level in facing chemotherapy. The
result of statistical test using Chi Square obtained p value (0,654) >alpha (0,05), so it can be concluded there is no
relation between family support with anxiety level of leukemia children due to chemotherapy. Based on the results of
this study is expected that the family support can reduce the level of anxiety in children who are on leukemia
chemotheraphy.
