Abstract


Abstract

The aim of this research was to identify the correlation between family support pulmonary tuberculosis patient and compliance in the following treatment program DOTS (Direcly Observed Treatment Shortcourse) system in Puskesmas Harapan Raya. Methodology on this research was descriptive correlational research and cross sectional approach. The sample of this research was 49 respondents and selected based on inclusion criteria. The research instrument were used checklist form and questionnaires that had been tested for validity in family supports (r = 0,568-0,939), compliance (r = 0,497-0,591) and reliability in family support (0,965), compliance (0,708). The data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate. Univariate were used frequency distribution  and bivariate with chi-square test. The result showed that from 28 respondents with positive family supports, there were  21 respondents (42,9%) had compliance and 7 respondents (14,3%) had non-compliance. Number of respondent who had negative family supports were 21, there were 4 respondents (8,2%) had complience and 17 respondents (34,7%) non-complience. Results obtained chi-square test p value (0.000) <α = 0.05, it can be concluded that there was a significant correlation between family support pulmonary TB patient and compliance in the following treatment program DOTS system. Based on these results, it is expected to further respon improve the support with emotional support for pulmonary TB.
