Abstract


Abstract

The purpose of this research to determine the correlation between the anxiety and coping mother of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) child undergoing chemotherapy. This research used descriptive correlation study with cross sectional approach. Samples on this research are 35 mothers with ALL child undergoing chemotherapy, which taken by accidental sampling technique. Instrument used was a questionnaire that had been tested its validity and reliability. Analysis of the data used univariate and bivariate  with fisher exact test. The results showed that there is relationship between the level of anxiety and the coping mother of  acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) child undergoing chemotherapy (p value was 0.044). This research suggest the health workers, especially doctors in order to provide an explanation of the treatment, especially chemotherapy to patients and accompanying family. Nurses are expected to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients and their families to minimize patient anxiety levels and improve mother coping mechanism.
