Abstract


The skin is one of the most important parts of the human body which is the sense of touch. Because the skin is the outermost part of the body, several factors such as exposure to viruses, bacteria, and fungi can easily attack the skin and cause skin diseases. Skin diseases must be treated quickly because allowing skin diseases to cause more severe symptoms is dangerous for one's skin health. Therefore, we need an expert system that makes it easier for someone who is experiencing symptoms of skin disease to diagnose the disease he is suffering from quickly and easily without having to visit a dermatologist directly.
Expert systems for diagnosing skin diseases in humans can help sufferers know what disease they are experiencing and can provide the right first treatment. In this study, the system was implemented into a web-based application with the PHP programming language and MySQL database as well as using the Forward Chaining method of reasoning, then the final result of this web expert system was the conclusion of what skin disease the patient suffered and the initial treatment that could be done. The feasibility of using an expert system web for diagnosing skin diseases has been tested and provides a validation value of 100% on the web system functionality test, 100% on the system expertise test with the Forward Chaining method, and 83% on the usability test.
