Perancangan Museum Batubara Di Tanjung Enim Dengan Pendekatan Arsitektur Metafora

Abstract


Coal in Tanjung Enim Village, Lawang Kidul District as one of Muara Enim Regency is potential region with big Coal production in Indonesia. But in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra is not yet available museum to see how the traces of coal mining activities until now. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to design the Batubara Museum which serves to introduce and tell the history of Coal in Tanjung Enim Village of South Sumatra. Research methods used through field surveys, library reviews, and Museum building analysis. The Coal Museum in Tanjung Enim is designed with the theme of metaphorical architecture emphasized on the Metaphor Architecture approach which will feature an architectural work from a different point of view from the actual object. The concept used is crystals because Coal miners themselves call Coal as a valuable black crystal. From the results of the research it was found that the design of this Coal Museum applied the theme of metaphor to the shape and facade of the building by taking the form of an irregular and shimmering crystals.
