Abstract

Social Adaptation of Fishermen in the New Normal Era of Covid-19 in Panipahan Laut Village, Pasir Limau Kapas District, Rokan Hilir Regency. This study is a study that aims to determine the social adaptation of fishermen in the new normal Covid-19 in Panipahan Laut Village, Pasir Limau Kapas District, Rokan Hilir Regency and to find out the efforts made by Panipahan fishermen in overcoming economic problems in the new normal era of Covid-19 . This study uses a descriptive qualitative method in which data collection is carried out by in-depth interviews, indirect observations and documentation. The results obtained are that fishermen make various adaptation efforts so that they can still go to sea in the midst of restrictions imposed by the government, namely continuing to implement health protocols such as wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance even though when going to sea the health protocols are relaxed so that fishermen do not have problems when going to sea. Fishermen also reduce their time at sea to save the costs incurred when fishing because it is difficult to sell fish in the new normal era. Meanwhile, efforts made by fishermen to maintain their economy are by looking for other jobs when they are not fishing. Fishermen also rely on additional income from their wives, assistance from the Panipahan Laut Village government and loans from business owners.
