STRATEGI PT BIO FARMA INDONESIA SEBAGAI CENTER OF EXCELLENCE DIBIDANG VAKSIN DAN BIOTEKNOLOGI DALAM ORGANISASI KERJASAMA ISLAM (OKI)

Abstract


Bio Farma is a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) that produces vaccines and antisera products owned by Indonesia which active as an International actor. In 2017, Bio Farma was trusted by OIC to be the Center of Excellence on Vaccines and Bio-technology Products, so as a leader in the development of vaccine production for OIC members, Bio Farma needs to implement its strategy in carrying out this role.

In discussing this research, the author uses qualitative research methods with the perspective of neoliberalism and the state-level as the level of analysis and is supported by the theory of International Cooperation and Competitive Advantage to analyze the strategy for the research.

Research shows that Indonesia’s strategy by making Bio Farma active in the development of vaccines production related activities in global market, is in line with OIC Center of Excellence’s role and functions, which is the leader in realizing the vision of to be self-reliance in vaccine production for OIC members.Bio Farma as a company with competitive advantage implements OICwork program based on Bio Farma’s strategy in increasing its competitiveness by establishing cooperation through Reverse Linkage trilateral partnership program, as well as knowledge sharing activities and forming workshops that are beneficial for OIC members.
