Abstract

Crime phenomenon in women in today's era is very prominent. Not only is it because of the increasing severity of crime cases that women suffer, but the intensity is increasingly worrying. Crimes committed to women are occurring in the midst of society, as we often see in the various mass media that preach these cases. In Indonesia, crimes against women are increasing annually, whether domestic violence and harassment of women. The purpose of this research is to find out what the motivation of the girls in Paskhas studied the martial arts of taekwondo. The informant in this study was 1 trainer and 6 female students who studied taekwondo at Paskhas Pekanbaru. This research is done using qualitative methods. The techniques applied in this study are by conducting observations, interviews, and documentation. In this study, the author found that some of the girls in Paskhas learned taekwondo because of the wishes of parents who wanted their children to protect themselves. This self protection is indeed necessary to face all evil because we never know when the evil will happen. With the increasing parental awareness of his daughter, it is expected that the crimes that occur in women may experience a decrease in numbers.
