Abstract


Mining, from to environmental side, is considered to be the most destructive compared to other exploitation of natural resources, which is why supervision is needed.. This study aims to find out the supervision of sand mining business at Indragiri river flow area, and to find out the inhibiting factors for the supervision of sand mining business at Indragiri river flow area, Rengat Barat District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. This study uses the theory of supervision stages by Manullang to analyze the supervision of sand mining business at Indragiri river flow area, Rengat Barat District. The theory consists of determining a measuring device (standard), assessment action, and corrective action. The type of the study is qualitative, using interview method, observation, and documentation. This study found that the supervision of sand mining business Supervision of sand mining business didn’t have much significant changes, causing the impacts such as abrasion, polluted river water, and damaged infrastructure which is the road used by residents at Indragiri river flow area to carry out activities, because there are still miners who don’t obey the rules and thus damage the environment. This is due the inhibiting factors of supervision such as the lacking of supervision officer’s quantity, limited operational fund, and lacking of the miners’ obedience.
