Abstract


Abstract: Based on the observations of researchers in the field, the men's volleyball team at Madrasah Aliyah Muhammadiyah (MAM) Pekanbaru still has many shortcomings. One of them is leg muscle power when jumping when doing a smash or block or during jump service. So that when doing a smash or block it is not optimal as well as when serving jumps, many do not enter like being hit in the net. The same is true for smashes that are not done well or can be blocked by the opponent, as well as when blocking, it is so easy for the opponent to smash, as a result, the match always loses. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Split Pike Jump exercise on leg muscle power in the men's volleyball team at Madrasah Aliyah Muhammadiyah (MAM) Pekanbaru. The population in this study amounted to 10 people, using total sampling technique, so that the sample amounted to 10 people. The research instrument uses vertical jumps to obtain data on leg muscle power. The data obtained were analyzed using t-test. Based on data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that there is an effect of Split Pike Jump exercise on leg muscle power in the men's volleyball team at Madrasah Aliyah Muhammadiyah (MAM) Pekanbaru as evidenced by the results of tcount 3,177 > ttable 1,833 at =0,05. This proves that by doing the Split Pike Jump exercise, the leg muscle power can get better results.
