Abstract


Abstract: This research is motivated by the social, economic, political and scientific life of the Talang Mamak Tribe people who are left behind with other communities, this is seen from inadequate clothing, food and shelter. Especially in terms of the implementation of community education for the Talang Mamak Tribe in Talang Durian Cacar Village, it is still not evenly distributed because there are still children who do not continue formal education. The formulation of the problem in this study is "What is the perception of the Talang Mamak Tribe community towards formal education in Talang Durian Cacar Village, Rakit Kulim District, Indaragiri Hulu Regency". The purpose of this study was to determine "How the perception of the Talang Mamak Tribe community towards formal education in Talang Durian Cacar Village, Rakit Kulim Subdistrict, Indaragiri Hulu Regency". This research method is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, distributing questionnaires (questionnaires), and documentation. Determination of the research sample using purposive sampling, which consists of 5 informants and 35 respondents from the Talang Mamak tribe. The results of this study are the Talang Mamak Tribe Society's Perception of Very Good Formal Education, this is due to the times, literacy and their integration with the immigrant community.
