Abstract


Abstract: This research is motivated by the zoning system policy in the implementation of the admission of new students in every school including SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru which is one of the favorite and superior schools in Pekanbaru. The implementation of the admission of new students through this zoning system often results in a lot of polemics from both parents and local governments, including schools. The purpose of this study was to determine how the implementation of the admission of new students through the zoning system in SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru and how the teacher's perception of the implementation of the admission of new students through the zoning system in SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru. This research is qualitative in nature. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. The informants in this study were 15 people. The data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Techniques to guarantee the validity of the data in this study are test credibility (lengthening observations, increasing persistence,triangulation and member checks), transferability testing, dependability testing and testing conformability). Based on the results of the study, it was found that the implementation of new student admissions (PPDB) through the zoning system at SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru was good and running smoothly, including procedures, capacity, socialization of admissions for new students. The teacher's perception of the implementation of the admission of new students through the zoning system at SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru was good and the teacher revealed that the implementation of the admission of new students was effective. The implementation of PPDB through the zoning system is considered to have both positive and negative impacts as well as the obstacles faced in implementing PPDB and learning in class, but teachers already have efforts to address these obstacles, including providing laboratory rooms for the community and learning media in the classroom. Based on the efforts made by the teacher to provide suggestions regarding the PPDB application, capacity and equal distribution of facilities and infrastructure in each school.
