Abstract


Abstract: The problem in this study is the low power capacity to pass the chest pass, especially in the explosive power of the arm and shoulder muscles, although they have been taught a technique that is quite good, but when They do chest passes, it still needs to be addressed. To solve this problem, the author offers a form of exercise that increases power, especially in the explosive power of the arm and shoulder muscles, that is, drugs for a ball pass in the chest. The title proposed in this study is "The effect of the medicine ball chest pass exercise on the muscular power of the arm and shoulder in the men's basketball game in SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru" so that in the future these students can make a pass Very passive chest, and the most important thing after this research is to know if there is an increase in the ability to pass the chest, especially in the explosive power of the muscles of the arms and shoulders. The form of this research is (using a group pretest-posttest design approach) with an extracurricular basketball population of 10 SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru students. The instrument used in this study was to use a two-handed medicine ball to put a muscle power test or to throw a medicine ball that aims to determine the effect of a medicine ball chest pass exercise on arm muscle power and the shoulder. After that, the data is statistically processed, to test normality using the lilifours test at a significant level of 0.05α. The hypothesis is that there is an effect of Medicine Ball Chest Pass training on Arm and Shoulder Muscle Power in the Male Basketball Game at SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru. Based on the analysis of the normality test, it showed a figure of 38,75 and then compared with the value of the table at a significant level of 0.05 degrees of freedom N - 1 (9) it turned out to show the number 1,833, this shows that the value of tcount (38,75)> ttable (1,833), then it can be concluded that the hypothesis that there is influence. Medicine ball chest pass training on arm and shoulder muscle power in male SMP Negeri 8 Pekanabaru City students who participated in extracurricular basketball activities.
