PENGARUH TEKNIK ASSERTIVE TRAINING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KOMPETENSI SOSIAL SISWA DI SMP MUHAMMADIYAH 1 PEKANBARU

Abstract


Abstract: Social competence is an effective response from someone to various life situations or the ability to interact effectively with the environment. This study aims to determine the effect of assertive training techniques on improving social competency of students in Pekanbaru Muhammadiyah 1 Middle School. This type of research uses quantitative research with an experimental method using the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design. The measuring instrument used in this study is a social competency measurement scale consisting of 38 item statements. The subjects of this study were 7 students who had low social competence. The data analysis technique used is non-parametric statistical techniques using Wilcoxon analysis test. The results of the study prove that the research hypothesis is accepted. This is known from "Test Statistics", known as Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) worth 0.017. Because the value of 0.017 is smaller than <0.05, it can be concluded that "Ha is accepted". For this reason, it can be concluded that there are differences in social competence scores before and after treatment in the form of assertive training techniques. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Social competence of students before being given an assertive training technique is included in the low category and after being given assertive training techniques most are in the high category. (2) There is a significant difference in the level of social competence of students before and after being given strict training techniques. (3) There is a significant effect of assertive training techniques to improve students' social competence.
