Abstract

Currently, the development of world technology has made many countries
have started to own and produce unmanned aircraft, namely drones or what can
be called UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). But now after experiencing
development, drones are also used for civil purposes, namely in the fields of
survey, photography, and videography which are carried out freely and openly.
This creates a potential disturbance to the violation of jurisdiction and violation
of the sovereignty of a country related to national defense and security if the use
of drones is aimed at spying on the territory of another country. One of them is in
the Natuna Regency area, which is located in a border area that is blessed with
great natural resource potential, namely in terms of fisheries, oil and gas.
The type of research used is normative legal research, namely library law
research. Where this research was conducted by examining secondary data,
namely legislation, research results, results of studies, and other references. The
purpose of this study is to determine the form of violations and to find out efforts
to prevent and resolve problems against potential violations of Indonesian
airspace by foreign drones over the Natuna Islands.
The result of this thesis is to discuss the forms of violations that have the
potential to occur against violations of state sovereignty in the airspace carried
out by foreign drones that occur over the Natuna Islands and the efforts made to
prevent and resolve problems. Violations in the airspace committed by unmanned
aircraft (drones) of foreign countries that occur over the Natuna Islands. The
conclusion of this research is that violations through unmanned aircraft or drones
of foreign countries are considered very vulnerable to occur because the
capabilities that cannot be detected by Indonesian radar make the aircraft freely
enter the airspace of Indonesian jurisdiction without being tracked and the
determination of classification is very necessary to know aspects -Legal aspects of
drone operation.
