ANALISIS DAYA SAING EKSPOR PAKAIAN JADI INDONESIA KE AMERIKA SERIKAT

Abstract


Development of the downstream sector of the textile and textile products (TPT) industry is important to be carried out massively immediately by the government. Potential for Indonesian exports to the downstream sector of the textile and textile products (TPT) industry is very large, but at the downstream part, namely the Indonesian apparel industry is still behind other exporting countries. This study aims to highlight the competitiveness, market share and forecasting conditions of Indonesia apparel exports to United States of America in the future. This study uses secondary data obtained from the International Trade Center (ITC) using several analysis methods, including Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Market Share Index (MSI) and Trend Analysis. The results showed that the RCA value of Indonesian apparel exports to the United States of America was competitive. During 2015 to 2019 period, the RCA value of Indonesian apparel exports to the United States of America tended to grow positively, with an average RCA value reaching 6,63. This indicates that apparel from Indonesia has high competitiveness in the United States of America Market, as well as making Indonesia the country with the third strongest apparel export competitiveness value in the United States of America after Cambodia and Vietnam. The results also show that Indonesia is a apparel exporter country with the third largest market share to United States of America, with the average Market Share Index (MSI) value in 2015 to 2019 reaching 4,72 percent, this puts Indonesia at the stage of export development in terms of market dominance. While the results of trend analysis or forecasting carried out from 2020 to 2024 on competitiveness or Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) show a positive RCA value. As well as, the results of trend analysis or forecasting of Market Share Index (MSI) value from 2020 until 2024 has a positive growth value.
