Abstract


The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of motivation and learning discipline on student academic achievement simultaneously and partially respectively. The research was conducted at the Department of Management, Class 2016, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Riau. The population in this study amounted to 259 people, using the slovin technique of sampling, 72 people were sampled in this study. The data analysis used is descriptive quantitative with multiple linear regression. The results showed that motivation and learning discipline had a significant effect on academic achievement simultaneously. And partially learning discipline has a significant effect on academic achievement. While the motivation variable does not have a significant effect on academic achievement partially. The value of r square explains that motivation and learning discipline can affect student academic achievement by 14% and the remaining 86% is influenced by other variables.
