Abstract


This study aims to analyze the effect of work environment and stress on nurse performance with organizational commitment as an intervening variable at the Tampan Mental Hospital Pekanbaru. The type of data used is primary data and secondary data with questionnaire data collection techniques. The research population was 178 nurses, while the sample in this study was 123 nurses, which was calculated using the Slovin formula with a simple random sampling technique. The data analysis method uses quantitative descriptive analysis with path analysis tools with the help of SPSS (Statistical Package of Social Science). The results showed that 1) The work environment had a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment 2) Work stress had a negative and significant effect on organizational commitment 3) The work environment had a positive and significant effect on the performance of nurses 4) Work stress had a negative and significant effect on the performance of nurses 5) Organizational commitment has a positive and significant effect on the performance of nurses 6) Work environment has a positive and significant effect on the performance of nurses through organizational commitment 7) Job stress has a negative and significant effect on the performance of nurses through organizational commitment.
